You should consider the location of your tub carefully to ensure safety and comfort. The perfect spot for your tub will enable you to enjoy the scenery, outdoor air and peace and quiet throughout the year.
A quality tub that is well-maintained is an investment that lasts for years. That is why you should take time to plan the location of the tub in your garden in advance. At its best, the tub will serve as a focal point of your very own oasis where you can enjoy relaxing baths with your friends and family both in the winter and summer.
The foundation of the tub must be sturdy
You should place the tub on a level and even platform that is sufficiently hard and that can withstand the entire weight of the tub. The surface can be evened out with stone chippings, for example. If you want to have a more solid foundation, you can cast one from concrete or use ready-made slabs. You should also place gravel under the heater or select another incombustible material for the base.
You should keep the area around the tub free from vegetation, as plants growing against the surface of the tub may affect the condition of the wood. You should not place the tub directly onto the lawn due to the weight of the tub. When the tub is filled with water, it is considerably heavier, which will cause the tub to sink into the ground if it is placed onto the lawn. This will also affect the functionality of the heater, if the door cannot be opened properly, for example. You should place drains on the foundation of a wooden tub in order to keep the bottom of the tub sufficiently dry.
Incorporating your tub into the terrace
The tub can also be embedded into your terrace. In this case you should always keep a cover on the tub when no one is bathing. This prevents children from entering the tub without supervision, for example. If the tub is embedded into the terrace, you should observe the height at which the tub is installed. You should leave the edge of the tub at least 20 centimetres above the terrace, to make it easier to step into the tub. The higher edge will also prevent people from slipping and falling into the tub.

When the tub is emptied, large amounts of water are drained, which is why you should plan the location of the tub carefully. You can purchase an outlet hose from Kirami to lead the drained water farther from the tub. If the tub is to be located in a densely populated residential area, you should consider your neighbour’s comfort when installing the tub.
