Dachshund Onni makes a successful dive straight into the hot tub

Kirami’s hot tubs have been a big hit in the spring and summer. But it is not just us humans who enjoy a relaxing bath: our four-legged friends have also learned to love bathing in a hot tub.

Kirami received a delightful photo from a customer at the end of the summer, showing the miniature smooth dachshund Onni make a spectacular dive into a Kirami hot tub.

Onni is a sociable dog and often wants to come along with us into the sauna, among other places. One day when we were in the hot tub, Onni climbed up the stairs and peeked over the side into the tub. I happened to have the camera at hand, and I thought I’d take a photo of the dog. But suddenly Onni decided to leap into the tub and join us in the bath. It was perfect timing, because the photo captured the diving dachshund,” Onni’s owner Eeva Mäki tells the tale.

Onni took to bathing immediately.

“The dive was Onni’s first time in the hot tub, but he seemed to love it so much that he often came back to take a look over the edge of the tub and think about maybe diving in again.”

In addition to his owner Eeva and her partner Sami, Onni’s family also includes the 13-year-old wire-haired dachshund Leevi. Both dogs love water, but Onni is the one who truly enjoys the sea.

“Onni loves swimming and the sea. We go jogging near the shore every day, and Onni always wants to go to the jetty nearby to look at the sea view. My parents have their own beach, and the dogs love to splash around in the sea there,” Mäki says.

Shared moments in the tub with the whole family

The Kirami tub that inspired Onni’s diving hobby can be found in the yard of Eeva’s parents.

“My parents have now had the tub for three years, and it’s used regularly round the year.”

The hot tub has proven to be an excellent purchase.

“They wanted a Kirami tub so that they could enjoy a hot bath even in the winter and relax together with the whole family.”

Kirami’s tub has brought joy to the whole family and their immediate circle.

The Family tub is a high-quality hot tub that withstands even frequent use by a lot of people. The tub in my parents’ yard has brought joy to the whole family, grandchildren and friends, and now also the dogs.”

The Mäki family takes care of safety so that Onni or anyone else cannot jump into the tub by accident or without supervision.

“We always keep the cover on the tub when it’s not in use. This is a good safety rule when you think about not just any visiting children, but also dogs and other animals,” Eeva Mäki sums up.

Kirami thanks Onni the dog and the Mäki family for a good story and great pictures.
